Company History
BlendStar was organized in 2007 when the management of Griswold Energy Partners identified the demand for the construction and operation of ethanol transload and splash blend facilities in various locations across the United States. The company’s first facility was in Knoxville, TN, and expansion into Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN quickly followed. BlendStar now has terminals in various locations throughout the Midwest and continues its expansion into new markets nationally. In January 2009, BlendStar became a 51%-owned subsidiary of Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE) (www.gpreinc.com) and in 2011 became full owner.
