Blendstar Certified Seal: Operational Excellence, Quality Assurance Blendstar is proud to reveal its Blendstar Certified seal to promote its commitment to develop and operate efficient and reliable renewable fuel terminals. We created a set of rigorous safety-based standards consisting of five main points that must be met in order for a terminal to be certified: safety and security, environmental safeguards, reliability, throughput efficiency and data management. Our number one priority for our seal is to show that our facilities are the safest in the business. We want you to know that Blendstar is going above and beyond when it comes to safety to keep everyone and everything that passes through our terminals as safe as possible. The seal also denotes that air quality requirements are met or exceeded and required containment systems for possible spills are available to ensure the safety of the environment and the communities our facilities are stationed in.
When you see our new seal, also know those marked terminals have demonstrated a proven track record of reliable service and exceptional product quality. At Blendstar, we pride ourselves on maintaining reliable facilities and means of operations in an industry that can often be unpredictable. Blendstar terminals are now more efficient than ever, integrating real-time automated data collection with advanced scheduling techniques to ensure the most organized scheduling of railcars and trucks in the industry. Terminals also use automated reporting and monitoring systems, providing constant feedback to all of Blendstar's logistics staff, including 24-hour, on-call support personnel. From transloading, to blending, to logistical support, terminals earn the Certified Seal by continually performing ahead of schedule to save you time and money while producing the highest quality product at the lowest possible price. Be on the lookout for our new Certified Seal; where ever you see it, rest assured, our terminals are performing with operational excellence and quality assurance. Ethanol Flooding the News Ethanol and its future in the American gasoline market has caused quite a stir on Capitol Hill lately. After much anticipation, the Environmental Protection Agency approved gasoline with a 15% ethanol blend for consumption in vehicles produced since 2007. Previous to this decision, the standard was a 10% ethanol blend for regular gasoline. The 5% increase is predicted to double the production of ethanol over the next five years, from the current 7 billion gallons a year to an estimated 15 billion gallons a year. Blendstar is excited to see that the government is actively recognizing the current and potential uses of ethanol. As the production and use of ethanol increases across the United States, Blendstar plans to expand its role as a leader in ethanol distribution, promoting safety, reliability and efficiency from start to finish. Though the next few years will be a transitional time as local gas stations and refineries adjust to supplying and distributing an E-15 blend, Blendstar will continue to be right where it's needed. On the Books:
