Our Responsibility to the Environment
We believe it is most beneficial for our customers and the communities we serve when our focus is aimed at operating a company dedicated to being a good steward of the environment. BlendStar, as a renewable fuels terminal management corporation, views the increased use of renewable fuels through our terminals in areas previously underserved with renewable fuels options as a positive step in sustaining the environment.
Making responsible decisions starts at the lowest level. From recycling in our home office to utilizing on-line technologies in reducing paper usage, we consistently promote the goal of reducing our impact on the environment. At the highest levels, we manage our terminal operations using standards meeting or exceeding air quality requirements and provide required containment systems for any possible spills. As opportunities have presented themselves, BlendStar has been able to remediate previously contaminated land, at our sole expense, for use as a renewable fuel terminal which otherwise would have continued to leach harmful chemicals into the local water system.

Safety at BlendStar is not just a document we publish once a year to comply with regulations, but a daily commitment to providing our employees, terminal operators, and those who use our terminals with the highest possible level of safety. Our most valued compliments come from drivers who use our terminals frequently and compliment us on the efficiency and security of our terminal operations. Using industry standard safeguards and real-time monitoring of terminal activity, internal operations employees can remotely monitor terminal equipment and operations while viewing activity through online security cameras. All BlendStar terminals adhere to the safety measures required for handling hazardous materials. Not only do we keep the people at our terminals safe, but ensure safety of our customer’s product through security gates and carded pump meters for access to product.
